CELEBRATE MARDI GRAS WITH THE RETURN OF MISS PUMPKIN
Bucks County Playhouse will once again celebrate Mardi Gras and “Fat Tuesday” in a big way – hosting its first annual Bucks County Playhouse Mardi Gras Drag Spectacular! The event, starring New Hope’s own Miss Pumpkin (Michael Gardner) with special guest entertainers, will be held Tuesday, February 9 at 7:30 pm on the stage of the historic Bucks County Playhouse.
This new annual show is an outgrowth of last year’s Mardi Gras performance by Miss Pumpkin – an event that was designed to celebrate her 25th Anniversary as a local drag performer. This year, the Playhouse is expanding the program to pay homage to other New Hope drag traditions, including the popular Queen for the Day pageant, in which local celebrities took their turn exploring their own, colorful drag alter egos.
In a wig borrowed from local drag legend Monica Rey, Gardner took the stage at the Cartwheel’s Mardi Gras show in New Hope 26 years ago and became Miss Pumpkin. In her years on the stage, Miss Pumpkin has been devoted to raising money for charity and raising her glass to toast the crowd. She and her friends are on stage at the Playhouse for their second Fat Tuesday!
Join us for a night of fabulous and funny drag performed by Miss Pumpkin and Friends!
The Riverview Café at the Playhouse will feature Frozen hurricanes, Beads, Jello shots and shenanigans will be available for all!
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
Cabaret tables, which include a split of Prosecco and a Mardi Gras mask, are $50.
